Warning of data “missing” on virus removal

In recent months, a number of netizens have confusedly reported on technology forums about the phenomenon that on having viruses removed, the folders containing data on their computers were gone. In more fortunate cases, users’ folders still could be seen, but they were not displayed normally and became blurred. However, Bkav’s experts state that this data “missing” is only temporary.

Data of more than 85,000 computers in Vietnam has been stolen

According to statistics of Bkav, data of at least 85,000 computers in Vietnam has been stolen due to their infection of Ramnit botnet. This is alarming because a lot of important information of individuals and organizations in Vietnam may have fallen into the hands of hackers.


How to defend against cyber attacks

In June, more than 450 websites of agencies and enterprises in Vietnam including 68 websites with domain gov.vn have been attacked by foreign hackers. Hackers took control, defaced or installed viruses to steal data, etc. This is the biggest wave of attacks ever on Vietnamese websites, of which the frequency is 4 times higher than normal.


“We are underestimating cyber warfare”

Mr. Nguyen Minh Duc, Director of Bkav Security comments that many agencies in Vietnam are underestimating the risks caused by cyber warfare.
